Sokos Hotels’ network of properties is being renewed, and among the latest news is the completion of the renovation of the legendary Original Sokos Hotel Presidentti in Helsinki at the end of August. The centrally located hotel has undergone a considerable transformation during the two-and-a-half-year renovation period, from which the Presidentti has emerged as a storytelling experience-rich hotel. Along with the change in style, the rooms have undergone extensive structural changes with the windows, doors, piping, lighting and air conditioning all being completely refurbished. The lobby, restaurants and banquet and meeting facilities have also been revamped, and the hotel’s 370-seat auditorium has been transformed into a private movie theatre, the Cinema Pressa.

But that’s not the only change. The Break Sokos Hotel Flamingo in Vantaa is expanding and the Sokos Hotel Seurahuone in Turku will open as the eighth Solo hotel in early 2019. The Original Sokos Hotel Alexandra in Jyväskylä is being given a revamp too.

Sokos Hotels is divided into three different types of hotels in order to provide individual hotel experiences to every taste. An Original hotel is Finnish at heart, familiar and safe, while a Break hotel focuses on providing a much-needed break and forms a part of a relaxing or active timeout from everyday life. A Solo hotel, meanwhile, is either a classic or on its way to becoming one. Each Solo has its own unique character and personality.
