A MATTER OF HOUSE CLEANING

Like most hotels in Europe and around the world, hotels at our destinations are moving away from the previous practice of providing full room service every day. Instead, they are adopting a more sustainable approach, offering light cleaning daily and full cleaning after two or three nights, or providing full room service only upon request at check-in or with one day’s notice.

While Via Hansa supports more sustainable practices, we have been encouraging our hotel suppliers to keep both us and our guests fully informed if they do not automatically offer full room service each day, and to ensure that guests are at least given a choice.

Unfortunately, we have noticed that many hotels change their practices at short notice and often without informing us or the guests about these changes. We are trying to keep records of these updates as much as possible. However, we recommend advising guests that, for the 2026 season and onwards, they should not expect all hotels to provide full room service every day. In general, guests should inquire about housekeeping practices at check-in. For any remarks or questions regarding the above, please contact: evija.snorina@viahansa.com or your assigned operator.
