Warsaw’s restaurant SENSES wins Poland's second Michelin star

Warsaw’s restaurant SENSES wins Poland's second Michelin star
11.03.2016

Restaurateurs across the continent were waiting with bated breath for the publication of Michelin's 'Main Cities of Europe' guide, and for the staff of Warsaw's SENSES, it turned out to be a day of celebration.

Until that day the only Polish restaurant to have won a coveted Michelin star was Atelier Amaro - also in Warsaw - which made the breakthrough in 2013. Atelier Amaro held onto its star this year, while 52 Polish restaurants in all were mentioned in the guide, which currently restricts its coverage to Warsaw and Kraków.

The restaurant SENSES is placed in Warsaw’s city centre, on the historical Bielańska Street – it is on the border between two architectural worlds – the modern Senator office building and the listed historical headquarters of the Polish Bank.

Restaurant SENSES describes itself as “combining modern cooking techniques with classic Polish and international traditions.” The kitchen is run by Italian Andrea Camastra, who previously worked in the UK and Luxembourg. Chef emphasises: “SENSES is about being honest and emotional about the food. Using the finest produce we are innovative and modern yet surprisingly familiar.”
