RIGA PASSES THE FLAG OF THE WORLD CHOIR GAMES ON TO SOCHI

RIGA PASSES THE FLAG OF THE WORLD CHOIR GAMES ON TO SOCHI
22.07.2014

Riga has taken pride in being not only the European Capital of Culture 2014 but also the World Capital of Choral Music, hosting the 8th World Choir Games from July 9 to 19. The world’s largest choir competition brought together almost 27 000 participants in 460 choirs from 73 countries in five continents and inspired many thousands of people to feel the power of togetherness in singing. Via Hansa was selected as the official partner of the organizers and during the World Choir Games in Riga, Via Hansa made the land arrangements including pre- and post-tours, accommodation and excursion services for more than 3000 participants from various choirs, including a very substantial number of participants from China and Taiwan.

The city of Riga has now passed the flag of the World Choir Games as a symbol of the Olympic idea on to Sochi. The city of the 2014 Olympic Winter Games becomes the host of the 9th World Choir Games in 2016. Where just a few months ago athletes competed for gold, silver and bronze, choirs from all over the world will meet from July 6 to 19, 2016, and sing for the medals they hope to win. Via Hansa will be happy to help you with any arrangements during the next World Choir Games in Sochi. For more information, please contact: moscow@viahansa.com
