Hotel Holiday Inn Helsinki City Centre, located in the very centre next to the Helsinki Railway Station will  undergo complete renovation next season and will be closed in the period 15.02-15.05.2016. The renovation works will in the first period, when the hotel is closed, focus on  lobby and restaurants and will be completed by Mid-May, while the renovation of the guest rooms will continue into the summer.

Helsinki starting up its lively and varied tourist summer

The summer season of Helsinki tourism will begin at the start of May and last until the end of September. During the five summer months, the city will be visited by as many tourists as during the seven winter months combined. One of the biggest events of the season is also one of the biggest public events in the entire country; The Tall Ships Races 2013 Helsinki is expected to attract some half a million visitors.

The number of people staying in Helsinki’s accommodation establishments is expected to rise slightly from the last summer season. In addition, the city is expected to be visited by 283 international cruise liners and as many as 400,000 cruise passengers over the summer.
