THE OPENING OF THE ESTONIAN NATIONAL MUSEUM

THE OPENING OF THE ESTONIAN NATIONAL MUSEUM
27.10.2016

Beginning of October Estonia finally saw the grand opening of the Estonian National Museum (ENM). The new museum is located in the university city and cultural capital of Estonia –Tartu. It is a new modern 350-metre-long glass building built on the edge of the city on an abandoned Soviet airfield. Both in physical size and financially, the project is the biggest that independent Estonia has undertaken and was designed by Paris-based architects DGT. The museum is dedicated to the history, life and traditions of Estonians and other Finno-Ugric people. The museum has two permanent exhibitions. "Encounters" is an exhibition of Estonian cultural history; "The echoes of Ural" presents the cultures of Finno-Ugric nations.

Besides the promise of wide-ranging, high-quality exhibitions, the ENM is also aiming to attract meeting planners with its multifunctional conference centre, cinema halls, a library, training centre, restaurant and cafés. For more information, please contact Via Hansa Tallinn office.
