The historical Nikolsky Market, which opened in 1789 and is dominated by a large rectangular market hall in the same style as the famous Gostinny Dvor, is undergoing a complete redevelopment into a multifunctional complex comprising commercial premises and space dedicated to shops, boutiques, restaurants, cafés – and mid-range hotel properties to be operated under global brands such as Holiday Inn Express and Meininger. The 3-star Hotel Meininger Nikolsky will open on May 28 featuring 158 guest rooms, a restaurant for 200 guests, lobby bar, lounge and game zone, while 12th of June will see the opening of the 4-star Hotel Holiday Inn Express with 244 rooms, the Express Café & Restaurant for 120 guests and a meeting and seminar room.
